Default iTunes 9.2.1

Okay, my problem isn't with the new iTunes version. But I was hoping the new version would fix my problem. It didn't.

Some of us have talked before about how to combine albums. "Part of a compilation" being checked used to put them all in the same place. It doesn't anymore, for me. I'm 'bout beside myself.

I have imported a few songs from albums that I had already imported other songs from previously. Now it won't put them in the same album, no matter what I do. It either calls them the same album name (but as a separate album) or it puts the songs in "unknown album".

Grrr!

After going around and around, I have fixed it. I deleted the new songs from the album and re-imported them. Before importing (the second time) I changed all the info ~ artist, genre, album name ~ to match exactly what the album in iTunes currently says. Apparently, because I didn't do it prior to importing the last time, it made a new album that would forever stand alone in spite of editing!

Glad you figured it out IK. Apple's software is getting more Mi¢ro$oft-ish. Trying to do too much with Apps, eliminating the little things that we like from Apps. I'm not sure if this is due to an influx of ex-Redmond workers or a new mentality in Cupertino that is trying to make new switchers feel comfy by complicating software or at least making "our" apps feel more like windoze programs.

Ha, you're so right, Scooter! I wish they'd quit it.
